The Book of Unwritten Tales
Enter the colourful, spectacular war-torn world of Mortimer McGuffin, a gremlin with a dark secret of a powerful artifact. The fate of his world depends on its possessor and, of course, on YOU. The Book of Unwritten Tales won enormous critical acclaim on its release in Germany, with an average ratings score of 87%. If it's received as well elsewhere - the signs are good - we may be looking at a 'future Classic'.

Stacking
After over a decade at LucasArts, Adventure guru and 'legend' Tim Schafer set up Double Fine Productions in 2000. Tim may be most famously known as designer of Classics such as Grim Fandango and Full Throttle and as co-designer of Day of the Tentacle and the first two Monkey Island Adventures. Stacking is an exceptionally original take on conventional Adventures and it's surely one that no true Adventurer should miss.
Baron Wittard: Nemesis of Ragnarok
The product of a two man team at Wax Lyrical Games, Baron Wittard is a game of exploration, observation and puzzle solving, Puzzles which, if you've neither patience nor mental agility, are sure to leave your head hairless by the time you finish. Alan Thorn is an award winning author, mathematician and video game developer. He and Marlies Maalderink met whilst working together on the eagerly awaited The 13th Doll project.
Asylum
Back in 2006, under the leadership of Augustin Cordes, Nucleosys released a spine-tingler of an Adventure called Scratches. Now, based in Argentina, Augustin is working with a different team of talented individuals at his new company, Senscape. A company whose philosophies include creating Adventure games which instill the player with exciting and different emotions .. "We want you to be part of rich stories where you will be amazed, intrigued and terrified.". Well, terrifying certainly seems to be the order of the day for Senscape's new roject, Asylum. The game promises to be far more dark and disturbing than Scratches (and that was pretty creepy in itself!), with environments which will be dirty and decaying, not to mention downright knee-knockingly spooky. Asylum is targeted for a 2012 release. So get ready to bite those nails!

Lunar Deep
A product of a one-man development team, namely Mr Ronald P. Corse at Ancient Rein Gaming, and based in historic New England, Lunar Deep is a first-person exploration and puzzle solving Adventure in which you, the protagonist, are 'called' on to save a race of people from probable extinction. The Adventure will take you through a strange world where you'll encounter puzzles and meet characters from a race of Moon-worshippers who eloped to the Moon to escape mankind. You must find a way to repair their ailing life-support systems; machinery that they no longer possess the archaic knowledge to repair. Lunar Deep is not a particularly long game, nor is it a particularly testing one, but it's an extremely enjoyable gem of an Adventure and a satisfying one as far as the all-important climactic ending is concerned. Mr Corse was, and may still be, working on a follow-up Adventure, The Dead Device. We hope he is! Lunar Deep runs well on modern PCs and can be purchased via the developer's website.

A nice little game, it can be downloaded HERE!
The Meteor, The Stone And A Long Glass Of Sherbet (by Graham Nelson)
This, almost Zork-like Adventure (in fact it was allegedly written with the thought it being a kind of tribute to the Zork universe in mind), is a large puzzle driven story Adventure and very enjoyable one to boot. You start on an elephant's back and you go from there ... into a very strange world. You are an ambassador and spy from a small duchy and your mission is to investigate rumors of the rediscovery of magic. You have been instructed to master its power in order to destroy it. The Adventure is set underground for the most part and the plot is interesting enough to keep the player intrigued for hours (days?), on end. To download this game, go HERE!
